Our process

A whole-person assessment.

Every treatment plan starts with a three-pillar assessment. We don't reach for a prescription pad until we understand the whole picture.

01

Biological

What's happening in the body.

Family history, co-occurring medical conditions, autoimmune & metabolic factors, and how substance use is affecting — or being affected by — physical health.

  • Family history of addiction or bipolar
  • Co-occurring conditions like diabetes & autoimmune
  • Medical interactions with substance use
02

Psychological

What the substance is doing for you.

The underlying need a substance is meeting, and whether a dual-diagnosis mental health condition is in play — anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, ADHD.

  • Underlying mental health conditions
  • What makes the substance appealing
  • Dual-diagnosis assessment
03

Social

The environment around recovery.

Living situation, relationships, work stressors and life events — the conditions that have to be stable for any treatment plan, especially detox, to take hold.

  • Living situation & support system
  • Relationship & marital status
  • Work, life events & stressors
Our values

The principles that guide our care.

Autonomy

Autonomy means “deliberated self-rule.” We believe that patients can make their own decisions and that our role is to make evaluation and assessments and to educate you about treatment options so that you can make an informed decision about your care plan.

Nonmaleficence & Beneficence

Nonmaleficence and Beneficence are perhaps best characterized by the Latin phrase “primum no nocere” (which of course means “first, to do no harm”) while always trying to benefit the patient.

Justice

Lastly, the principle of Justice, which is our moral obligation to act on the basis of fairness and respect. We believe in fair distribution of scarce resources, respect for people’s rights, and respect for morally acceptable laws.

Our team

The people behind your care.
